Travelodge – Lancaster

Contractor: John Sisk

Project Value: £500,000

Architect: AEW Architects

Stone Type: Sandstone

Just 7 miles from Heysham Ferry Terminal and 1 mile from Lancaster Train Station, the Lancaster Travelodge Central Hotel is a popular hotel to stay and explore Lancaster Castle which is situated next to the River Lune, only half a mile away, or enroute to visiting the Lake District.

The hotel has recently been updated with a fresh new look and features Travelodge’s new room design complete with Dreamer Bed so you can be sure of a good night’s sleep.

The £4.9m six-storey building will comprise retail at the ground and first floors with a Travelodge Hotel from the 2nd to 5th floor. Tesco has already signed up to occupy one of the retail units and it will install a Tesco Express outlet.

PMJ Masonry was tasked with the eye catching Natural Stone cladding on the exterior of the building. The Lancaster sandstone with contrasting veins of browns and pinks compliments local architecture. The saw tooth west elevation and curved frontage with feature fin certainly gives the building a striking look.
