Higgs Centre for Innovation – Edinburgh

The Higgs Centre for Innovation will support start-up businesses with the aim of creating new market opportunities, especially in big data and space technologies. The Centre is funded through a £10.7 million investment from the UK Government. The Science and Technology Facilities Council will invest £2 million over five years to operate the centre.
PMJ Masonry is proud to have worked on this project with GRAHAM Construction for the first time and it is clear to see that the final result will be a beautiful building.

Meadow View Care Centre Takes Top Award At RIBA Ceremony

PMJ Masonry are proud to announce that the Meadow View Care Centre Project in Darley Dale has won the RIBA East Midlands Award 2017 at the RIBA Ceremony in May 2017. This is one of two care centres that PMJ Masonry have been working on with Balfour Beatty Construction for Derbyshire County Council.
The £8 million Meadow View Care Centre was externally cladded with natural stone sourced locally by PMJ Masonry. This project consisted of Ashlar Sandstone walling with long runs of facia/soffit and capping features.

Luxurious Dakota Deluxe Hotel Open For Business

PMJ Masonry are now in the hand-over process after supplying and installing Chinese Black Granite to the external elevations of this brand new boutique hotel on Greek Street in Leeds. This 10 storey, 84 bedroom boutique hotel operated by Dakota was constructed on the former ‘stacker’ car park in Leeds City Centre. The new hotel includes a basement restaurant and ground floor bar, coupled with contemporary rooms that Dakota say is ‘the new modern classic’. PMJ Masonry installed specialist feature wall cladding incorporating cills and rebated panels including circular granite columns and external planters.

PMJ Masonry begin at Higgs Centre for Innovation

PMJ Masonry have begun construction on the Higgs Centre for Innovation in Edinburgh. The new construction will mean working with main contractor GRAHAM Construction for the first time in what will be a very successful partnership in delivering an impressive new building. The Higgs Centre for Innovation is named in honour of Professor Peter Higgs of the University of Edinburgh, who received the Nobel Prize for his prediction of the existence of the Higgs Boson which was discovered at CERN in 2012.

Meadow View Care Centre Shortlisted for RIBA East Midlands Awards

The £8 million Meadow View Care Centre was externally cladded with natural stone sourced locally and installed by PMJ Masonry. The project consisted of Ashlar Sandstone walling with long runs of facia/soffit and capping features. We are pleased to announce that this project is one of eight shortlisted buildings in the RIBA East Midlands Awards. The awards evening will be held on Thursday 25th May 2017. Working alongside Main Contractor Balfour Beatty Construction and Architects Glancy Nicholls, a stunning new care centre has been produced that will have a significant beneficial impact on the community of Darley Dale.

PMJ Masonry Receive ‘Commended’ and ‘Highly Commended’ Award at Stone Federation Ceremony

The Stone Federation Natural Stone Awards is a biennial award ceremony set up to celebrate the best and brightest of natural stone construction projects from across the natural stone industry. PMJ Masonry attending the ceremony at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London on Friday 2nd December 2016. We are delighted to announce that PMJ Masonry were awarded a ‘Commended’ Award for Meadow View Care Centre, Darley Dale and ‘Highly Commended’ for the Silberrad Student Centre, University of Essex.
