10 South Parade – Leeds

Contractor: Stainforth Construction

Project Value: £178,000

Architect: Wilton Developments

Stone Type: Limestone

This perfect example of inner city development not only scooped a top Yorkshire Office Development Award, but because of its close city centre location, has become a desirable property for letting.

The building has been designed to be modern and contemporary, whilst being respectful and reflective of its context on South Parade and the period surroundings of the City’s Business District.

The work includes the addition of extra space on the first floor, a new glazed fourth floor featuring balcony areas, a new glazed and re-located entrance area and a radical transformation of the exterior of the building in Natural Stone, undertaken by PMJ Masonry.

The tightness of the perimeter working space whilst maintaining pedestrian access was a big challenge especially when manoeuvring the large feature panel over the entrance. A truly traditional build without doubt!
