Leeds Beckett University required a new home for academic creative and cultural activities, and so PMJ where involved in the installation of the external ashlar stone that would draw admiration as it lays in the centre of Leeds.
The project was under intense pressure financially and PMJ Masonry worked with Downing Construction and the Leeds town planning department to develop a suitable design and propose a suitable stone that was not only in keeping with the local environment surrounds but within an acceptable budget. The Portuguese Mocca Creme’ stone was the choice after much deliberation and all parties involved couldn’t have been much happier with the outcome.
It was a design lead challenge to deliver the project given the saw tooth elevation and even more challenging ‘projecting TV screen’ elevation but with our design team paired with our exceptional stone masons and their years of experience we were able too overcome this challenge.
