South Farm and Equestrian Centre – Grimsby

Contractor: North Midland Building Ltd

Project Value: £4,300,000

Architect: Feilden Clegg Bradley

Stone Type: Limestone

PMJ Masonry were excited to start the largest domestic dwelling project they and the country have ever seen! With 3000m² of limestone on the external walls and the same internally it surely will be the envy of multi-millionaires around the world!

A fully professional working Equestrian Centre is also along side the main building with two grooms houses and a hay barn, all again built from Natural Limestone.

Designed by Keith Bradley of award-winning practice Feilden Clegg Bradley, the home will be vastly different from most other 21st-century houses. Its scale compares with some of the biggest country houses in history. “The floor area of about 40,000 sq ft is about the same as Castle Howard or Hardwick Hall,” says Bradley. Not only will the roof of the two-winged home be covered in grasses, but more than half its energy needs will be provided by bio-crops grown on the estate.

The eyes of the construction world are on this building purely from the point of view as being a domestic dwelling. Others will be keeping an eye out for future Grand National winners!!!
